User experience and IA
User experience planning is the process of defining your site’s structure, content and functionality to ensure people interact with your site in the desired way to achieve your objectives. It is an essential part of the production process that allows us to document and agree the final delivery in the early stages of development. This stops us from designing and building something that doesn’t match expectations or deliver against objectives.
User experience tools vary depending on the requirements of the project and can include; user personas, competitor benchmarking, desktop analysis, stakeholder workshops and focus groups. The output from the user experience phase will usually be the sites information architecture (sitemap and wireframes) and key user journeys. We can then test the sites IA with prototypes and user testing to ensure they work as desired.
